Father was born in the Philippines and came to the United States with his family as a boy. He has lived in various states and he taught high school prior to his priestly studies. After ordination, Father Caparas served as Parochial Vicar at Queen of Angels Parish in Landisville, and then at St. Peter's Parish in Merchantville. He was appointed pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in September 2011. In 2013, Father Caparas was appointed as the first Director of Catholic Identity at Gloucester Catholic High School. After serving in that position for three years, he was then appointed as the Principal and President of St. Joseph High School In Hammonton, where he served before being appointed Pastor here at Mary, Mother of Mercy.
