Small Group Gospel Reflection

Here at Mary Mother of Mercy Parish we offer a small group or small Christian community program. We know that when a group of up to 12 believers come together in the home to pray and reflect on the word of God good things will happen. This is the way that the Catholic Church was started by Jesus and the apostles.

Our small groups are rooted in the universal Church and are under the authority of our pastor here at Mary Mother of Mercy Parish. The purpose of this first small group initiative will be to read, reflect and learn about the Gospel reading for the upcoming Sunday. When appropriate we will highlight the Old Testament prophecy that is fulfilled by this Gospel passage and the section of the Catechism of the Catholic Church that is relevant to this teaching.

Small groups will be held in the home and will last no more than one hour. The day and time of each small group meeting will be set by the group host. The outline and session content for each Sunday can be found by date in the links below. Any parishioner can start a small group. Just invite some friends or family members and get started right away!

If you would like to participate, but are not able to host a Small Group, please call the Parish Office with your name and contact information, and you will be connected with others in your situation. Likewise, if you would like to host, but don't know who to ask, contact the Parish Office.
