Whole Family Catechesis

Whole Family Catechesis is a form of religious education in which families come together, with parents working directly with their children to learn their Catholic Faith.
All students in grades 1-5, and their families, are welcome to attend. Attending the monthly sessions will satisfy the Church requirements for students in grades 1-5. (Students in 2nd grade are required to attend Reconciliation and First Communion retreats).
Sessions meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month from 10:15 – 11:45 AM in Mercy Hall, Glassboro.
A few things to know when considering Whole Family Catechesis:
- Parents should make every effort to attend the monthly sessions.
- Unit Tests will be given every other month as a means of assessing the students’ work.
- Each student will receive a workbook relative to their grade level. Each month assignments will be given for the student, and the family as a whole, to complete.
- All students will be expected to display a certain mastery of the material presented at the end of the school year.
- It is a good idea to set a time aside for lessons each week (approximately 1 hour/chapter each week). It is probably a good idea to have a consistent day and time, to complete the work. The hope is that this will become a special time for your family with as many members as possible coming together to learn, or refresh their knowledge of our beautiful faith.
