Glassboro, NJ   08028

From its inception in 1903, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas has grown and developed into the largest Catholic women’s organization in Americas. We are a national organization with 63,000 dues-paying members in 1,150 courts (local chapters) in 45 states across the country and in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Guam and the Virgin Islands. Under the patronage of the Blessed Mother, its members are united by their faith in Jesus Christ and their devotion to the Church and the Holy See. The purposes of the organization are to participate in the Religious, Charitable and Educational Apostolates of the Church. Catholic Daughters of the Americas engages in creative and spiritual programs that provide its member with the opportunity to develop their God-given talents in a meaningful way to positively influence the welfare of the Church and all peoples throughout the world. Catholic Daughters strives to embrace the principle of faith, working through love in the promotion of justice and the advancement of human rights and human dignity for all mankind.

Court Blessed Katharine Drexel #2327 was instituted at a special Mass concelebrated by Bishop James T. McHugh and Msgr. William Buchler on February 11, 1990.  We are an active court sponsoring a Baby Shower normally in February with the proceeds given to National Life Center in Woodbury. We sponsored a Seminarian with a stipend every year. Currently our Seminarian is Timothy Mulranen from the Church of Incarnation, Mantua. Rev. Father Jason Rocks was a recipient of our stipend many years ago. We donate annually to Sacred Heart School in Camden for the education of a student and St. Michael’s Indian School in Michaels, Arizona founded by St. Katharine Drexel in 1902 and still going strong. We donate to our churches and to those in need of our help. We also help Mothers Matter here in Washington Twp. We host “Lunch with Santa” and “Lunch with Bunny” to bring a smile to a child’s face.  We also have a “Bag/Basket Bingo” held at Incarnation Parish Hall in the spring.  Additionally, we participate in Cross Catholic Outreach Box of Joy, where members take a shoe size box and fill with items a child would like. This is a State wide project where in 2022, 1,038 Box of Joy were sent to the children in Ukraine, and now in 2023 our Box of Joy totaling 1,141will be going to Central America and the Caribbean Islands to be given to children who may never before received a present. Cross Catholic Outreach helps the poorest of the poor with this project.

Catholic women 18 and over are invited to join us on the second Tuesday of the Month in Mercy Hall next to Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 6:30 p.m. Ladies are welcome from other parishes as well. We have members who belong to Church of Incarnation in Mantua as well as Mary, Mother of Mercy Parish.

Oh Lord, help us to use our hands for serving others more than serving ourselves.

Remind us that our hands are gifts to use that we may give to others.
